We are booked in for the Peterborough Show from 16th to 20th April but don't want to travel all the way from Tees-side on the 16th and don't want to come straight back.

Last year we had a night at Lyndon Top on the way down.

Any suggestions for somewhere to call in south of Tees-side and north-ish of Peterborough on the way down and back?

I can recommend Teversal. Worth going just for the showers!
If you're into walking or cycling, the country park opposite ( old mine site) has some stunning views.

One of my favourite sites. As you say worth it just for the showers... Don't forget they also have fresh baked bread delivered every weekday morning still warm...

Bruges or Brugge of course, think of the pride and tails you will tell when you get there.

Graham doesn't do foreign. Mind you if he's coming down to Peterborough that's a contradiction in terms.

Probably would not suit your requirements but I am thinking of trying Rutland Water and doing a cycle around it. Close to Peterborough, a few CL's in the area, a CC recomended site not far away and http://www.rutlandwatercampsite.co.uk/ at the waters edge.
