stopover pub or site near beach on cumbria coast (1 Viewer)

We are planning a major dog walk on the beach, can anyone recommend a nice site? nade and steve.

How about here at St Bees in Cumbria. Looks a good car park next to beach with no barriers and no apparent restrictions

Plenty of smallish sites around Allonby and a couple of "holiday park" types in Silloth. Sand dunes, cycle path and Roman remains plus views of Bonnie Scotland if the rain lets up.

Plenty of room on the coast road from Ulverston to Barrow.

Ravensglass CCC site right near the beach and the narrow gauge steam railway up into Eskdale.

Cannot praise Ravensglass CCC site enough, great site for dog walking and train rides. St Bees has a lot of car parking, but be careful there were restrictions on Motorhome parking when we parked up for a coffee.

It must have been there for 20 odd years as I remember staying at silloth and going to allonby for an ice cream and a good meal at the pub which was a surf bar about 2 years ago!!
