Have a look at Keith's pub stopovers. It's in the resources. There's one just near the A69 at Carlisle.

Getting better month by month.
Stayed here myself Summer last year. Really big car park - cordoned off for "Brit-Stoppers", but like most places they didn't ask.:cautious:

You can overnight at the Carlisle Toby Carvery, it's about 250 yards from jct 43 of the M6, next to Tesco's. The buffet breakfast will set you up for Leeds (y)

The Braids caravan site is in Gretna on the Dumfries side, but it is signposted. It is on level hardstanding pitches with water and rubbish points close by. The toilet and shower blocks are spotlessly clean, warm and freshly decorated. We stayed there last week and I think it was about the £20 mark for us both. There is a hotel next door and a few other pubs etc further along the same street also with a parade of shops. The Outlet Village shopping complex is at the Carlisle end of Gretna which is about a ten minute walk from the site.
Regards, Charlie.
