I did enquire about having one fitted by a Hymer dealer they said there was a lot of work required as the chassis needed to be cut and quoted a ridiculous sum needless to say never had it done and not found a solution other than a hop up as suggested by others.

For those who use a step on a bit of string to climb in with ... how do you do the reverse to get out? If you open out the step won't it just fold back up as you lower it?

That looks like a solid bit of kit must weigh quite a bit?

As for the plastic step, I remembered others who have used this method but thought it might be a bit too 'low tech' (or lower class) for 'A-class owners! :D

It works for me but then I am nearly careful enough to be mistaken for a Scot or a Yorkshire person. Cost to date €6 (that's €5.98 for the folding step from Electro Depot in Brive + €0.02 for the string already in stock). Further investment on R&D is anticipated, may have to seek out long life strings. As for only being a temp solution, fine, I'll buy another.

Sadly this won't work in the US market as the step is only suitable up to 130kgs (might be ok for pre-school I suppose)

For those who use a step on a bit of string to climb in with ... how do you do the reverse to get out? If you open out the step won't it just fold back up as you lower it?

Not if you have 2 strings, each one looped through 2 corners. How do I get a spot on Dragon's Den?
