I have a car that was Sorned about 9 years ago, kept on Sorn but reminders stopped in 2009, didn't realise.

Checked on DVLA website, car still registered but says that not Sorned and enforcement action will follow.

Happened to anyone else? - what's it likely to cost?

    a fine.....around £80 from memory

possible back duty to expiry of last sorn/tax......they wanted almost 6 months of back tax for my suzuki jeep until i told them i already informed them it was scrapped.

they had no record but accepted there was no back tax due so just had to pay the fine.

confusing thing is they would have taken action a long time ago.....one took a few months for me..

 Happened to daughter, her motorbike in our back garden being fixed after accident last year. She forgot to SORN when in hospital with broken back. 50 pound fine.

I am surprised at the length of time - I missed a SORN before 2004 and got a fine , around £35 I think, don't know why I haven't heard earlier - quite glad in a way that the car is still registered though.........

as much as its a pain in the arse they are under no obligation to send reminder.....the onus is on the owner to ensure its taxed or sorned.
