Thats what I would like, an Awning where the material is a solar panel, I doubt if the current flexible material would be flexible enought. But if the future you never know, a nice big surface area producing loads of electricity.

Would it be nice if the whole of the van 'outer skin' could generate electricity?

In our lifetime?

Who knows.

Some boats have thin but strong panels stuck all over the deck. I'm sure it won't belong before that are on all sides of our vans.
