Just deciding whether to decamp as usual to Les Saisies for Xmas, or venture to pastures new. Considering Les Meunieres or VT but unsure if there will be space over the festive season. We go out on the 19th but would like to do a couple of xmas markets on the way down.

There was space at Alpe d'Huez last Christmas....hardly surprising as we were sunbathing and looking at green mountains!!! Then the snow and crowds arrived but there was still a couple of spaces at NY. Don't know about Les S or VT/Les Menuires at Xmas, but they'll be chocka at NY for sure. In my experience it's arriving between the two that's iffy.

We too were sunbathing on the free aire at Les Saisies last xmas day.....not so Boxing Day after a couple of feet of snow overnight! I can book Parking at VT for the festive season but at present I'm preferring Les Menuires if there's space. Looking to get somewhere for xmas eve choose where-ever.

We are looking to ski higher up pre Xmas if the snow is not so good lower down then head south for Xmas - Briancon area or AdH side.

Has anyone got news of early snow yet, I keep checking Andorra but although there is snow high up, non of the runs are open yet.

Les deux alpes (l2a)leaving UK straight after Christmas and spending new year there. Glacier, so guaranteed snow even if not whole resort. L2A had a big skiing event there last weekend - snow 50cm up there and looks amazing. Hopefully will squeeze In 5 days ski or alternatively 5 days drinking and eating.
Re VT you can book your parking (no 2) but will have to take pot luck at les menuieres - confirmed by tourist office when I contacted them.
Solden for Easter - booked, again glacier, so all low risk this year. This year older children still managing to cling on and requiring accommodating BUT
Next year (thinking 2017 already) will just head for them mountains beginning of March

Are you leaving UK boxing day or Bonneval. We are heading off BD, hoping to get as far south as possible, overnight aire somewhere arrive in resort 27th, buy passes, drink wine and ski as soon as lifts open next morning - all weather permitting. Forecast is looking grim over Christmas snow and ice, so may not be pleasant driving, but essential once there

And did you know that you can get a Eski-mo pass covering 5 resorts in that area? It is cheapest if purchased in Bonneville

www.eski-mo.com

See you out there at some point maybe
