Can any of you recommend and towns or cities that have nice campsites near by and which can be accessed via cycle routes with hardly any road work

Lincoln - Sustrans 64 - old railway line through Lincoln and on towards Boston following the River Witham. Loads of campsites within a shout of the route.

Chester has some nice routes too, into the city and depending on how energetic you feel plenty of nice flat cycling.

Bath has a nice site and a cycle path that goes into Bath and on up the canal one way, and the same cycle path into Bristol the other way, although it stops short of the centre. You'de be better off catching the bus into Bristol from outside the campsite.

We were on a THS near Harrogate straight after the Malton rally a fortnight ago. It was part of a camp site at Bilton and was right on the Beryl Burton cyclepath. There were routes to Ripley, Knaresbourgh and Harrogate.

Beware the numerous 'kamikaze' scooter riders using the cycle tracks in Amsterdam.

There is a site right on the edge of central Cardiff, I'm told it's not cheap.

http://www.cardiffcaravanpark.co.uk/

You can easily walk into the shopping centre but for further afield the site sits on the Taff Trail;

http://www.sustrans.org.uk/ncn/map/route/taff-trail-cardiff-to-brecon

There is a cycle hire shop on site;

https://www.cardiffpedalpower.org/

You can cycle from the site to Cardiff Bay, mostly off road or you can take a water taxi;

To and from Cardiff Bay, where you can cycle around the Bay, about 10kms and mostly flat, or climb up the short steep hill to Penarth and cycle along the Coastal Path.

Theres a C&CC club site here in Milton Keynes, right next door to Willen Lake and in the middle of nearly 200 miles of leisure paths, .
Don't let the MK tag put you off, there is splendid country side, Central MK if shopping is your bag and its on the Grand union canal so you can cycle all the way to Paddington if you want !

The Wysdom Touring Park in Burford is nice and gives access to plenty of rides around the Cotswolds.
