To anyone out there who is thinking of selling their motorhome, we would like to recommend the above company. After 21 years of caravans & motorhomes we came to the decision that we were not using our van enough so decided to sell. Through this forum, I was contacted by Select Motorhomes & decided to give them an opportunity to sell it for us. They were very professional in dealing with us & very prompt on transferring funds when the sale was completed. They seem to have a wide range of quality vehicles available. We wish them all the best for the future.

We have a few items we will be selling when we sort the garage out & would like to thank all the help we have had on this forum & happy travelling to you all.

Does he only sell top-end vans? Not yet thinking of selling but when we do we’re unlikely to be in the ‘more desired’ range🙂

Do Select sell on a brokerage basis charging a commission, like a yacht broker sells a boat or an estate agent sells a house?

Yes, they agree on a price you want for your van & then try their best for you, they then sell it with a 12 month insurance backed warranty which is built into their costs.

Essentially the same approach as adopted by Motorhome Depot.

Ian
Motorhome depot just advertise your van and individual agents meet customers at your house.

Select Motorhomes have their own premises, staff and the customer gets the dealer experance and is able to view at large array of Motorhomes in one place.

They do much more than that! They offer part exchange, finance and warranty. Pretty similar to any other selling organisation.

Select Motorhomes have their own premises
As do a number of Motorhome Depot’s agents.

the customer gets the dealer experance and is able to view at large array of Motorhomes in one place.

Most ‘customers’ who need to view a large array of motorhomes in one place are rarely ready to make a purchase. Those that arrange to see a specific motorhome are viewing because they are looking to buy.

There isn't that much difference between the two business models.

No we buy the van before the new owners collects. As a result a customer gets the full dealer experience e.g. 12 month warranty, service, mot, habitation check, electrical inspection, gas check etc.
We also don’t want to sell from drive ways, this protects the customers from scam artists and people will try and use bully boy tactics but also if there is a problem with the new van you don’t get “Dave” turning up at 9pm on a Saturday night telling you he isn’t happy with the van or how does this work!

Another happy seller here through Simon and his team, they made the sale of our motorhome a much less stressful process for us and achieved what we felt was a decent and fair return. Would definitely recommend.
