Suggestions needed please

Off side rear sidelight
when switched on it lights and then goes out
Brake light works

New fitting
connectors replaced

I can find absolutely no reason for the power supply to the lighting fitting stopping any ideas to solve appreciated

If all else fails I'll have to bridge over from the nearside

I know this might be telling you how to suck eggs but, is it fitted the correct way? Some plastic receptacles allow the bulb to be fitted the wrong way round and the ecu might be thinking it's pulling too much current and turn it off.
Try no bulb and a multimeter on the connection and earth then see what happens.

Will a 2007 Ducato have a canbus system?
Yes I believe it does, I had a similar problem a few years ago, I changed a blown bulb but the new one would not light, I ended up disconnecting the battery which reset the canvas and then it worked ok. The other thing to is that it is the correct wattage as the canvas is very fussy.

As said. Canbus system. So anything causing a short on that system will cause the power to be cut. For me it was one little LED side marker light.
Disconnect other lights on that system, and test/refit one by one.

Will be hoping it stops raining tomorrow first I will get some new crimp connectors so they fit the light fitting better then I will disconnect the battery and see what happens
The earth lead is the one that keeps coming loose in the crimp so that's the first fix

Madcaravanner If/when you disconnect the battery make sure you disable the solar panels if you have then, if you don't the 12v will still be on and nothing will re-set.

Well Guess what
After dismantling all the rear clusters to trace wiring, got some wire from the nearside working light to the one that wasn't (the earth was fine) then everything did the same on that side

As a thought I swapped the bulbs over and then the problem was on the nearside

Despite the bulb not giving incorrect readings on the test meter a change of bulb and problem went away giving me 8 working sidelights.!
Must have a minut short on the bulb itself - now need more brake bulbs 😂
To say I'm fed up is an understatement

Is it exactly the same wattage?
Might be shorting only when hot.

It's an identical bulb the double filament type correctly seated

Ditcha no mate was literally on less than 5 seconds before the Canbus switched it off
It only came to realisation when I swapped the bulb over is rear light sockets

I was more worried that it could be a faulty fitting as they are not available separately from the light Cluster and getting one means £30 ish out of the holiday fund - for a £5 fitting - didn't fancy it

The bulb is the common denominator so no choice but to try another bulb.

A Woosh bang
CAN bus system,

technology should be progress, it's going backwards ..
never had issues like this with hard wiring

seems to me that 'modern' vehicles have many more issues than the oldies had
