Mostly, yes.

Well not book exactly, but state your intention on the rally thread.

Organisers/marshalls need to know numbers and for many rallies you pay the campsite directly

It is best and if it is a show rally then yes definitely , for the others it is always good to let who is running the rally know. Have a look through the rally forum gives a good idea what is going on

I am at Lincoln with the HCI but intend to come to say hi to someone and find out a little more how things differ from the way things are done in the HCI. Barrir

If it`s a rally/meet organised by a "Funster" member, usually they start a thread and ask people to append names or let them know, so they can give site owner an idea of numbers, and if they (Rally organiser) are going to put on any entertainment, Bar-B-Q`s, get togethers etc,,, it let`s them know how many to cater for..

On the other hand if you put your name down, and for some reason you cannot attend...

It helps a lot if you can let the organiser know as soon as possible.... as a lot of sites there is a limit to how many the site will or can take.. and help`s if there is a reserve list..
:)
