OK, outside socket fitted with a built in timer. Whats the best option. Setting the timer up so that power is on for a few hours during the night to keep the chill off and charge the batts or just leave it on constantly. RCD fitted as well.

Mine is hooked up as soon as I get home and stays hooked up until we go away again.

quite safe if you have a modern multi stage charger.

Potentially dangerous to batteries. Our charger does a boost charge every 5 charges, so if yours does you could end up frying it.

Also, a huge proportion of electronic failures occur during power-up, power-down, it's when all surges take place.

Mine has been on 24/7 for the last 6 years.
