    Hi
Wondering if a possible change of network could improve our reception while touring Scotland.
The present Network we are with seems to give a reasonable coverage, considering the terrain, but just wondered if any of you locals have found a better one, as things change, and which would you recommend?.
We tend to cover most of Scotland on our trips, so know the problems involved, as we often spend 6 weeks at a time there. We mainly want it for phone use, internet would be a plus but not essential.

    Thanking you in advance.

Hi Depends where you are going you will always get black spots. We find o2 and vodafone are the best. We had virgin in 2009 and went to the outer hebrides and hardly ever got a signal but our daughter had o2 and got signal most days.

Think when you go to the highlands it is worse due to the hills.

I work and tour the West Coast and as said O2 and Vodafone are the best, all our vessels have Vodafone for Phone and internet (just don't expect the faster internet connection).

    Dave,
We live in the north of Scotland and are frequent visitors to the Highlands and have discovered O2 and Vodaphone are far and away the best and will give the widest range of coverage.
There will of course still be blind spots but fewer with these providers than with any other.
Orange and Virgin are to be avoided at all costs their coverage is very patchy to say the least.

We had a month in Scotland last year. Our phones n dongles are with 3. Superb reception at Killin, Grantown on Spey, Bunree (Fort William) and at Jedburgh. Both phone and 3g for internet.
