Think if I got a million spare I wouldn't want to be running a campsite

We tried to stop at the first one - Halladale - a couple of years ago but it was full to overflowing with construction workers. But when I asked nicely they let us stay on the pub carpark, which was nice of them. Then in the morning when we set off we realised that just a few yards further on there was a lovely little layby we could have stayed in with no "workers-coming-out-of-the-bar" all night :)

A camp site with no staff, just you to get moaned at if they think you are the warden.

We have stayed over night on the second one.. But it was on bikes ..
Fabulous place.. The bunk house is run a bit like a hostel, with decent kitchen facilities, and decent community /tv room too.
We ( three of us ) actually sneaked in to the tv room and kipped in there for the night.. It was tipping down with rain and the other two were soaked to the skin..
