We are shortly leaving on a trip to Poland and thought on our way back we might visit Northern Germany and its coast. Does anyone know of any "must visit" places in this area. We have done quite a lot of central and Southern Germany but don't know too much about these areas:rolleyes:

Getting there!
Did Baltic coast last year. Fortunately we had great weather and thoroughly enjoyed that part of Germany.
Lubeck is a lovely city (especially if you like marzipan). National Park Rugen is beautiful, we stayed on a nice Stellplatz at Schaprode, on the beach and here there is a passenger ferry over to Hindesee. We caught a couple of car ferries across which was about €12. Prora & the coast around that area is far better than you would expect. Peenemunde is worth a visit if you like World War 2 history. We stayed at a Stellplatz in Bansin which was in the forest, & a 2 minute walk to a beautiful beach, from here there is also a cycle path into Poland (Swinoujscie)
