We set off yesterday to do Northumbria then Cairngorms , decided to sit the rain out at Knaresborough and seeing how bad they have had it up there have decided to reroute

Bev said why don’t we go to Gatehouse?

Why not, at least we can watch the tide come in and out and surely the rain must stop sometime

So we are going back to ‘our’ site where every time we go we bump into another funster mostly who heard about it through us

Setting off from here in morning, anybody else there

Hoping so, had a southerly wind chasing us up the M1 / A1 yesterday got 25mph

Gas resolved at Morrisons Boroughbridge this morning

Apparently going in via Gretna shopping hope to get to site before dark

No I’m hoping to get it done next weekend, just waiting for electrician coming as we need new hob and oven wired in back to the fuse box. He hoping to have it done this week, I can wait as it’s mates rates, while I’m waiting I decided to strip out the bathroom last weekend so living with half a kitchen and no main bathroom

We first came here about 35 years ago and had pretty much this view as we arrived then not so much of a surprise any more but it still makes us smile

Now parked, beer poured, we will be hunting for the local shell specialities in the sun tomorrow

Is it citrusy ? I have really gone off beer that try’s to taste like lemony orange I have gone back to full flavoured ‘bitter’ Skye Brewery Black or Old P. Or even McEwan’s 80 shilling

I don’t like many Scottish beers but really like this, good hoppy taste and 5.1%

Good morning from our little paradise

Stayed here a while ago, Brendan was here and he asked if we had walked to the chapel along the beach . We hadn’t so we did

Today decided to walk down again, knowing we had four hours till high tide we need to go or leave it till tomorrow

Well we should have left it till tomorrow worth the walk, tiny chapel built in 1768 for prayer and contemplation

Trouble is we appear to have contemplated too long and got rather wet going round the rocks that seemed a long way from the incoming tide on the way out

Possibly in August but even then there would always be room in the field before the beach itself , beach is best though

After such a wet start to our trip away our beach has really been such a lovely place to be for a few days
