C = Campingaz

Rarely seen in use by Funsters, now thought to be one of the most expensive liquids per cubic litre in the known universe, just behind inkjet cartridges and Champagne :cry:

L = Levelling Blocks

You put them under your wheels so that the 'van is nice and level. And then...at some point between then and the time you go to bed, gravity shifts or the levelling block fairies come along and move them... :RollEyes:

On our 2nd MH now a AutoTrail Savannah which we're absolutely delighted with
I want to put a full Glossary of motorhome terms on the site as I'm sure newbies would find it useful. It would be good if it could encompass as much as we can.

You can add the words and descriptions if you like, but just the words will do. Include slang terms like Tugger and Toad, you don't have to think of a whole alphabet worth, just add any old word that should be included... Get the idea. Thanks for you help:Smile:

A A-Frame - Aire ? ?

B Berths (Not Births) ?

C

D

This for newbies like myself is a great concept,about which the long established members I'm sure agree it is too,however they naturally can't miss the "Fun" opportunity offered. In fairness I'm really enjoying the nonsense it's encouraging.
No doubt the Fun leader will collate it all efficiently for us newbies in due course.
Thanks again for all your assistance

Telepeage - Automatic payment system for French toll roads - avoid this lane at the toll booths if paying cash.

Vidange - Emptying (France)

GPL - Liquid Propane Gas at French service stations

Gazoil - Diesel in France. They also call it Diesel.

PL - Poids Lourds (heavy vehicle) diesel pumps which pump the fuel out at a prodigious rate. Use the other pump.

Deviation - Diversion (France)

Sauf Riverains - Residents only parking (France)

CL - small club-certificated camping spot in UK

Green Card - International confirmation of camping/caravan club membership, sometimes handy at European campsites for discounts and/or checking in. Costs about £5 annually.

Vignette - Swiss method of paying flat-rate toll in advance for motorways and trans-alpine tunnels. Can be purchased at the border crossing or online in advance.

Francs - still the currency in Switzerland, remember they're not in the Eurozone(!)
