We have done the Moselle twice in the past, both times in September.
Considering maybe a trip for April, has anyone been that time of year ? any comments ??
I know it's not going to be hot like September but weather search says it could be be 14 degrees so not to bad for walking about..

On the last trip we attempted the Rhine but it was so busy i just turned around and went back to the Moselle. Maybe April would be better.

I spent a week working collecting wine from vineyards on the Moselle one April.
It was so cold we had to offload the several tonnes of wine we were carrying into the hotel we were staying in to stop it freezing in the back of the truck at night.

Once the snow ploughs had been through, the driving was great.

The hillsides that normally are green and vibrant look very dull and brown rather spoilt the view that I normally love , and quite cold been going over 50 years .

If I were going away in April I’d be thinking about south France or even Spain.

May I ask why ? looks to have a great view over the river.
What's the village like please ?
The village is really nice, near Piesporter, great bike rides/walks along the river next to the site. Not far from Bernkastel Kues another must see town. Just a great little place to be. When we were there last, Sept, the local vineyards set up a pop up bar right on the river 1 mile from the site. Delightful place for a drink.
Around 10€ PN
