Oh I see I am actually going to SMC in Sheffield to look at bikes.
They have a new 690 duke 7200
Can you recommend dealer with best price
Craigs had the best price when I was looking at new but I ended up finding a private sale from a guy in Essex, got it delivered by a bike courier.

Don't give up mate :)

I remember to this day the words of my instructor many (many) years ago.

He said, "I'm here to teach you to pass your test. Come back when you've passed and I'll teach you how to ride."

Which I did, quite a few times too, it just got more and more fun!

I'd also second the 'Bikesafe' courses that the police run too (y)
Thanks I will definitely consider another course

@Steve & Gina , How about this deal. This is the best I can find new, Dukes seem to be like hens teeth this weather, especially private. My '12 plate is still going for what I paid for mine 3 years ago.

Hi Big tree
That looks a good price best I have had new is £7200 from SMC in Sheffield.
I'm afraid at the moment I still don't know what bike I want at the moment my choice is varied ktm 690, kawasaki 650 and Honda
500 x.
Problem is until I pass my test I can't test Ride so the jury is out

The only thing I will say is a single is a busy bike, you are always looking to find the ideal gear. But and it is a BIG but,i have never had so much fun as I have had with the Duke.I also have the 990 Superduke, which I think is also a Mega bike but for a bike to take with us in the van,it has to be the Duke. Did go and look at the Ducati Scrambler but that is built to a budget, plus it is heavier. What would be a good bike is the SV650 naked if you could whack a bit of weight off it.

Hi Big Tree
Our garage height is only 990 so what ever we decide will have to be towed or Armitage rack Subject to our payload
