The camping and caravanning club site up North Hill is a good location. You can walk on to the moor from there onto the coastal path and all the way to Porlock. The town is a pleasasnt walk downhill as well. Views to Wales are good on aclear day.

Living in Minehead I should know!!

2 months and loving it!
Some idea's:
The top of Dunkery Beacon, (highest point on Exmoor, Guarantee fantastic views),
Top of North Hill, go along as far as you can for car park with views over Porlock from Bossington Hill,
Top of Porlock Hill, several areas on left & right ideal for wild camping,
Slightly further afield on the B3224 Wheddon Cross to Ralegh's Cross is a car park half way between the two on left, also Blue Anchor Sea Front, but not in stormy weather as sea will remove more than the dead flies!
Hope this helps.

There is a lovely site overlooking the cliffs in Watchet. My mum works there as a cleaner 2 days a week although she is 70+ :whatthe:
2 min walk to the steam railway that takes you straight in to Minehead or a 15 min drive away. Cheap and cheerful.

Let me know if you want further details.
