Mercedes 410D Servicing in Bristol area ? (1 Viewer)

Hi folks, my old hymer s660, based on the Mercedes 410D requires a service. Can anyone recommend a decent Commercial garage in the Bristol area that could do this work.

When I lived in Essex I used the same one man band for over 30yrs to look after my cars. So finding some one else is a new and scary experience!!

As I am pretty much fulltiming, I would be prepared to go further afield if I need too.

I so sympathise with you.

I discovered a superb, small garage with old fashioned skills and attitudes backed by up to date equipment in Sennybridge but the Funster owner has gone and retired and is now swanning around Europe visiting posh ski resorts with his child bride.

Can you not potter over to your old garage?

There was a motorhome friendly small garage on the side of the river between Bath and Newbridge. I will try to look him up...

Edit. Check out Locksbrook Garage, Locksbrook Road Trading Estate, Bath. BA1 3DZ. 01225 428536. They let me stay outside the garage as necessary.

Hi JJ, I would love to be able to go back to my old garage, but sadly it is strictly car size premises.

I remember reading about your Sennybridge exploits on your blog! I think your man has the right idea, surely swaning around Europe with a child bride is better than crawling around under motors.

He had a full sized pit and a ramp and a lady who would bring over cups of tea/coffee with cakes and biscuits!.

Bluemerle. You get your Hymer 660S down here to Central Portugal and I will take you to garages that have worked on the 410 chassis for so long they know their way around them with their eyes closed.

While they are doing the servicing we can pass the time of day sitting in the sun and sipping cold Superbock minis. (Are you any good at olive picking?)

You could always try your local Mercedes Truck servicing place. Ours in Suffolk is not too bad!

Pity there are no independents ....

JJ Portugal is on my list for 2014, certainly like the idea of sitting and having a bevy or 2 with you. With regard to olive picking, never tried, but always willing to give something a try (well most things)

Have a little look on the merc owners club site - there are a few dealers/specialists on there in the Bristol area. Mainstream-wise City West Commercials are quite good down here. There is one Griffiths? I seem to recall dropping a car off there years back, near Ashton. Not sure what they are like, but were are non-dealer specialist.
