Am in General for one day and thanks to kind Funster will be calling in for a coffee and photo shoot. Fingers crossed the weather picks up.

Be aware that there are road works on the A34 and diversions are in place to go to the show. If coming from the north you have to come of at the Beedon Jnc about 3 miles before M4 jnc 13.

Good morning from the Newbury Showground. All is ready at the Funsters pitch, the field is in good condition and our marquee has been erected. The entrance to the field is through a gate, you should have no problems with access but please take care as it is not very wide. We also have only one water tap to supply the whole field, if you can arrive with some water in your tank it will help to ease any need for queuing.

Think the water tap pipe has sprung a huge leak somewhere...its spraying all over the site!!!

little soggie, but once this rain stops later should drian quite quickly....but just incase...bring lots!!

When we got back from shopping yesterday Sian twisted her ankle quite badly; she cant put any weight on it at all. Watching her get to the loo this morning was hilarious, though she didn't appreciate my giggles and threw some curses my way. Might have to carry her to the Funster hospitality tent this morning. Bless.

Sorry to hear about Sian's accident. She works so hard at the shows and always has a smile. You will just have to give her some TLC Jim and get her to rest it. I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of the Welsh curses!!

Is there a safe cycle route into Newbury or do we dice with death on the main roads?

from the gate of the show ground, if you turn right towards Hermitage on Priors Court road, continue until you reach a mini roundabout where it meets B4009, you can turn right onto B4009 and follow the road into Newbury.

Another option, if you are brave enough to get across to Chievely services at the junction of M4 and A34, you could follow the road under the A34 to near the Hilton hotel and head towards Newbury on the "old A34" / "Oxford road" (single carriageway, typically fairly quiet) listed as Whitefields Cottages road, past Donington golf course and into the town.

Jim, see if you can hire a mobility scooter for her while at the show. She will be exhausted by the end of the day if she doesn't get help. Siân take it easy!! Take up any offers of help and a few glasses tonight will surely help. Sorry not there to help.
