The first time for us in Portugal apart from a brief stay in the Algarve and we are very pleasantly suprised.
The aires that we have used to-date have been immaculate, has have all the towns that we have visited, there always seems to be an army of sweeper uppers and the bins seem to get emptied daily
A few pictures, the first two being the aire at Belmonte and no idea if it is the norm but caravans are allowed according to the sign.
The second two are of the extremely religious town of Fatima where way back in time (1917 ) a shepherd girl was supposed to have had an apparition .
The devoted approach the church on there knees, and there are dozens and dozens of smart shops selling nothing but religious artefacts, so many it is hard to see how they survive.Whatever happened way back in 1917 has sure been used as a tremendous marketing tool as millions go there every year
I think poor old Todmorden could do with a little shepherd lass reporting a similar sighting
