My Kindle screen has gone funny. The top inch or so seems to have drained of the electronic ink. Any remedies? If not can anyone reccomend where to get a cheap used one. It's the Kindle 2 , with keyboard and wifi but no 3g. Reason for wanting the same model is that the case for it was quite expensive and doesn't fit the newer ones.

Thanks

I started a thread on this last month. Both mine and my wife's kindle broke on holiday. Same sort of thing as you.

I think ours was caused by pressure on the screen.

My wife bought a new one but I am not sure I will bother.

Don't suppose its less than 12 months old is it?
My daughter's screen went funny, Amazon instantly replaced it under warranty with the same type of kindle.

I rate amazon very highly, worth a try if it is still covered.

I don't think any of the tablets can match Kindle for battery life. Thats because they are lit, whereas a Kindle is not. Kindle only uses juice when you are changing pages. It also uses juice when on the network so this needs to be switched off when not in use.

Our screen died
We contacted Amazon, they replaced it FOC with no problems-------GOLD STAR for Amazon's customer service.
The one they sent was suppused to be a repaired one----looks brand new to me:thumb::thumb:
I am now much more carefull with it.
We read on Amazon's forum that if it's out of warranty period they will charge £50-------still reasonable IMHO
Give it a try------you can't lose anything
