Is anyone over 70yo insured with LV please? (1 Viewer)

Just spent today chasing insurance quotes. From completing a form on line for LV they won’t cover me due to my licence being for three years, but isn’t that the case for everyone over 70 yrs old? Just wondered if that’s right.

I think for motorhome insurance it's always better to phone them up.

Yes, but via AIB. Took it out last year when I was still 69. So, maybe a problem this renewal

I find AIB excellent deal with.

Just renewed mine with LV, multi car policy, car and motorhome.
I’m 70, 71 in May. Wife 70 in July.

If the question is, how long have you held a UK licence? Then the answer is the number of years from the date from when you first had a UK licence. Maybe different if you have been banned at some time then I would assume it is from when you got it reinstated.
i.e. you don't have a new licence every three years when over 70 you simply renew the previous one.

The answer for you to that question up to 70 is that you have a 'Full' licence

It normally means 'B' Or B+E or C; C1 etc.there is no "type" that is determined by a time period. everyone knows over 70 is 3 years max for C1

LV don’t accept new customers for vehicle insurance over the age of 80. If you are already insured with them, they will renew after 80, but unsurprisingly the premium goes up.

For motorhome insurance with LV, phone contact is usually easier than trying to do it on-line. The number for contact is shown on their website…… 03306785111.

Both my car and my wife's car are insured by LV on the same policy. Been with them since they took over from Nationwide insurance business. We are both in our mid 70s.

Our motorhome is insured with Comfort.

Sounds almost worse than fishy. I'm 72 & my 3yr license renewal is due next month but I renewed 'van insurance last week with no mention of driving license validity.
(Incilentally, with Comfort which not only gave best price by quite a margin but also less than inflation increase from last year.)

Yes been insured by them several times since i reached 70. It's all in the wording of the question, ie you have not been asked to renew for medical reasons. John 3 years older has been on all the policies too.
