My iPhone will not play music or video soundtrack through the internal speakers although thesound is present when ubiodysing headphones.
The volume is set to max and the speaker works OK when the phone rings.
I've tried so called solutions such as plugging and unplugging the headphones several times but to no avail.
Anybody got any ideas?
Mike

In settings make sure the volume limit is not on.. Should not make any difference but worth a check :thumb:

Hi Makens
Just tried it on my iphone and when you first select a track of music there is no volume but if you use the volume up/down buttons it should activate your internal speakers, thats the buttons on the side.
Hope that helps?

I agree with Jim, sounds like condensation.
I would suggest taking most of he cotton wool off a cotton bud.
Stick it in the headphone jack.

Give it a twirl or two::bigsmile:

Hey presto.

Should work ok.

Thanks for the replies so far, but the problem has been solved by my grandson.
Apparently there is a switch next to the volume controls that seems to make some apps silent or not. But it only affects some apps for some strange reason.
So it is basically a RTFM issue

My wife's iPhone 3GS has a similar problem but even worse. There is no sound at all from the built in speakers.

It does not ring on an incoming call. No text or email alerts, no music, no app sounds. Total zilch....

But on the headphones all works well. We have tried the headphones in/out fix, the cotton bud clean in the headphone socket. Checked all the settings, mute switch, volumes etc but no joy. Seems to be a not unusual problem from looking on google.

We just still don't have a fix. The phone is out of warranty. I also tried a reset of all the defaults. Any other ideas would be appreciated.

just call the provider's help desk up.. I have always been amazed at the level of know how they ALL seem to have ! ( at least, Vodafone, T Mobile, 3, and Orange .. I have had to call each one and each one knew their stuff and knew what the problem was. oh and not one had supplied the fone in question )

Willing to bet it is just a button press or similar :thumb:
