Hi guys, we need some advice, fitted a 1000 watt inverter, do you all switch yours off when not in use, and does anyone have a remote switch on theirs, as we have not been able to find one.
Yes to the Switch off as an Inverter will draw some current even when not in use - all be it a little amount. And yes to a remote switch as the inverter is under one of my seats so is a pain to get to. All fitted by @eddievanbitz last week.
Yes we switch off when not in use, unless it's a sunny day and the leisure batteries are fully charged (from solar). In which case the little draw of current that the inverter takes, is of little concern
We have a 1500 watt inverter which we use a lot don't have a remote but its easily accessible and yes we switch it off when not in use. Can't draw much power though as I have been known to forget to switch it off and go back a week or 2 later and batteries are still ok.
I have one of these in the live from the battery to the inverter. I mounted it through the seat base next to the battery's /inverter.
I only switch the inverter on whens its needed.
Leave mine on remote all the time as its in an outside locker, according to my battery gauge it does not draw any power when on remote, however there is an on/off switc,h in the van.
