My renewal offer from saga is £693 that's £130 more than last year. I have full European cover and European breakdown cover, I've had a quote from Adrian flux at around £322, am I missing something oh by the way I'm 66. The van was registered in 2001, it was apparently imported to the uk from Ireland and is a Citroen base with an A class 644
Can anyone recommend a good insurer for and old left-hand drive rig

@badgerskins The premium on my classic Hymer increased by 50% this year with Saga but nowhere near what they want to charge you. I did not shop around but I will next year. Many insurers do not like grey imports.

Never had a competitive quote from Saga, Comfort got my business this year after beating Safeguard who we have been with for Four years previous.your quote from Adrian Flux seems good.

Have you been in touch with the Classic Camper Club? They used to get special rates for members on there and an agreed value (not market value).

That's bizarre. I have a 1987 imported Hymer, I'm with Saga and I pay £198 per year for full European cover and breakdown.

What they are quoting you is crazy money.

I use "2gether"

they don't seem to be the slickest of companies but someone ran into me in France last year and they have dealt with it. The end insurer was LV, the renewal last year was £243

If you are on Facebook then I recommend you join the group Classic Hymers, there has been a lot of discussion on insurance and they have a discount with one firm as well.

Thanks all, I'm just waiting for an email from A plan who I think will be in the same ball park as Adrian flux. I'm amazed at the rate Jackie P's getting, all I can say is enjoy it! I looked into comfort but they couldn't handle my wife Nekane's Spanish European driving license. Unfortunately I still don't do face book so I can't benefit from their discussions! I'll contact aib before finally deciding now I'm looking I might as well.
thanks again to all
