Just watched an advert for a new phone app (from Aviva) that monitors your driving style and offers discounts in the process:Smile:

Seems you can download it for free, then your phone monitors your driving style, speed, braking efficiency etc etc and rewards you in a number of ways:thumb:

Checked it out on good old Google and there looks to be a number now available which I think is a great idea. Anything that could possibly save us money on insurance has to be a good idea and so I’ve passed it onto my fellow Funsters:Laughing:

Might not suit everyone, but here’s some useful links if interested:thumb:

I thought that was the spy in the cab box that some insurance companies fitted for young drivers to gain discounts. It went in the car after taking out the insurance and then monitored the driving and the discount had already been applied. Break the terms and rules and the insurance goes up, or becomes invalid:Eek!:

The 18 year old son of my friend had one and it restricted him to driving at set times, no later than 11pm and restricted the speed too:thumb:

These are different as they’re for us all and it won’t reduce our insurance by just having it on our phones (unlike the spy in the cab box)
you have to earn and prove it first and then there’s a discount involved:Smile:

Good idea for some me thinks:thumb:

Would be a great idea for those of us who full time and have to pay at least 100% more in premium to AVIVA through Comfort than those who just holiday and leave their vans empty and available to thieves..
