Travelling back from Scotland last week, we stopped for a break in a motorway services, parked in designated spot and sat down for lunch. We were parked about 10" away from a grassy area and when we parked up there was not a grasscutter in sight but low and behold..along comes a young man on a sit on grasscutter and bashes into our exhaust with quite a force, bending it somewhat. After a hell of a pallaver trying to get a no from him (the first 2 were non existent) we checked the motorhome and tentatively set off.
I was quite pleased with the initial response during the first call as they seemed quite thorough and even mentioned giving us a vehicle to replace theone we were in. We set off home, calling in to RV specialist on way back who assures us vehicle is safe to continue and measures up exhaust piece in readiness for insurance go ahead.
Instructed to wait for a call from the insurers we set off home ..3 days on we ring Safeguard to be told there is no claim on the system ?? Now we have to wait for this person to come back to us this evening to find out what is going on. Grrr!
Does it usually take this long to get the go ahead for work to be carried out?
What happens if they arent satisfied they can recover the money? does it affect our no claims etc? So much for all the promises when you first join up.
Never had to claim for anything before, am I being impatient?
