i realise this has been discussed many times before but need to put in my twopennorth.
i'm currently trying to insure a new auto sleeper nuevo ek plus. have been all day yesterday online and the phone. quotes so far range from £748 up to £2784. some would not quote. there are umpteen variables given but it seems some companies see motor home ownership as a cash cow. they all ask the same questions and receive the same answers. i know all about trackers, immobilisers ,alarms and clamps. post codes and a myriad of other criteria is used to up the price, but fair play went out the window a couple of generations ago!
there, don't feel much better but it helps.

Mh insurance is not a cash cow. They are simply passing on the huge price increases across the board, no parts, long parts acquisition delays, ev claims, the list goes on. It will not improve anytime soon.

I've paid worse than £748.

Have you tried one of the specialist brokers, AIB, Adrian Flux etc ?
The online comparison sites are not great for motorhome insurance.
But it is risk based on individual circumstances so what works for me may not work for you.

£748 is less than 1% of the cost of a new motorhome. My motorhome is worth 10 times more than my car but only costs 3 times as much to insure. Buying new is my preference but I also expect to have bigger bills for insuring and servicing, it is part of the cost.

A lot complain about the cost of insurance. Maybe we need to have third party only available at a cheaper rate and people can then decide if they want to take the risk of covering their own actions or theft/damage themselves. My betting is that if you could get third party only for a cheapish price most would still want someone else to carry the risk but still whinge about the cost!

Tp & TPF&T is no problem here.Won't happen in the Uk for the simple reason that the insurance company scammers use "knock for knock" to blame both parties, increase both the vehicle insurances plus all other insurances they can, whereas here in spain either is no problem,& for me neither is using it in the Uk, as the insurance company will always pin the blame on someone.Someone has to be at fault.

Just re insured my van today with AIB great price £380 including European recovery the European cover was £88. So £292 for insurance. I think it’s a very fair price considering the value of the motorhome.
