Hi Funsters

OK here we go again when you think you’ve finally kitted out the love of your life, “No I’m not talking about your partners wardrobe” you then see something and say to yourself “because no one else will talk to you” I think a camping electric toaster might be nice for when on EHU.

I’ve tried the grill on my oven but it does not do a good job, the toast comes out hard and partially underdone.

So I know you guys and gals will have copious experience in this matter of choosing the perfect camping toaster so I’m looking to you to lead me in the path of perfect toast when camping on EHU.

Many Thanks Tony

Over 6000 miles between 3 March to 26 September 2017.
We bought a £5 two slice toaster from Morrisons. Works reasonably well, just a little unevenly done, but not too bad.

Have an electric toaster but also have a toasting rack for use on the hob when no EHU, and it makes perfect toast. Take a look at Amazon but do not try the upright one. Go for this - highly recommended.

We have a low voltage Swiss Luxx toaster from Towsure.
Had it a few years ( so was cheaper!) it is compact so large slices don't fit.
Don't take it abroad , french do lovely bread but their supermarket sliced is Horrid IMHO!

Standard devices in our van: the electricity that comes through the hook-up cable is no different to that which comes from our sockets at home

OK, we might be limited to 16A, or 10A, or even 6A, but careful management of them ensure that we never trip the supply (except for one very dark, cold, wet night at Les Anderleys when I flicked the kettle on whilst the fire was still set at 2kW  ). We travel with Tesco kettle, electric dual hob (Lidl), George Forman grill, toaster, hair-dryer, fan heater (for instant heat), oil-filled radiator (for silent, long duration warmth) as well as a plethora of electronic devices.

Getting better month by month.
We only had a cheapy from Tesco as well, but removed it for our last trip to France as I needed the shelf for Wine!!!;) We haven't put it back yet and may well not bother as we didn't really use it. We have a toastie making pan now, so will give this a whirl first.
