How was your weekend ?
Lovely.
We went to Brugge for the weekend with the kids and Jacobs " shes my friend not my girlfriend:Blush: " Helen.
The weather was lovely , bright blue cloudless skies . We hired a horse and trap and had a tour around the city , climbed up the bell tower , walked for miles around the cobbled streets , ate loads of belgian chocolate and chips and mayonaise.
There was a prossession through the main street too. Something that we have never seen when we have been there before. Huge brightly coloured floats 2 stories high , no health and safety here each with very loud speakers playing music. Pulled by huge tractors with enormous wheels. Throwing sweets into the crowds lining the narrow streets. Firing confetti all over the place. Brass bands and children dancing ending with what we think , was the mayor and mayoress in all their finery in an open top car. It was really good.
Now the kids are older , we get more " our" time whilst on board. As the kids love to wander around the ferry and do their own thing .
Ralph and I sat in Lanagans wine bar , before dinner as we set sail , with a bottle of champers and watched the huge moon setting over the sea.
( thankyou lady for the £20 )
These P&O weekend breaks are a great change to the weekends away in the motorhome but you do end up coming home half a stone heavier , with all the food on offer on board . Infact too many of them and I wouldn't need a blow up fat fairy suit.
