Can anyone tell me are they good? I think it is better to plug in to the site?.
May be silly question but new to moter homing.
All good advice, one thing I will add - when your putting it back in the locker at the end of the trip, turn it off on the fuel valve and let it run dry instead if turning it off on the control panel. This will use up the fuel in the carb and make it run dry. No stale fuel in the carb and it will help with the smell!

A surge protector plugged into the gennie is also a good precaution.
Even better, put the surge protector on th van side of you EHU plug and it will protect you when on dodgy hook ups - they do exist

Slightly off topic but ...
How big of a genny do you need ?
How long does it need to run to charge the battery ?
Do you leave it on all the time or just when battery runs down ?
I cant decide between fitting an extra battery or a genny for the occasions we have no hook up .
A surge protector plugged into the gennie is also a good precaution.

This questions was raised on an RV forum.. apparently they are popular in the US. I've done a lot of Googling and not found a simply plug and play product.. only hard wired for the DB.. I came to the conclusion that no one made one.
If this product were available, others raised concerns about theft of said plug.
I use a 6 way surge protected socket for voltage sensitive portable equipment

In reality we want to run the eberspatcher for a few hours a day and evenings also on low setting all night and with a couple of lights on in the evenings.
i know this is prob a very difficult question but in your exoerience do you think that 2 110a batterys will be sufficient as I very much doubt we will ever be in one place for m,ore than 2 days.
