I'm looking for house/contents insurance for leaving the property unoccupied for up to 180 days at a time.

The house is checked regularly by our next door neighbour while we are away.

Any info will be most welcome.

Regards

Don

Don, I have checked this many times, the results vari from no cover after 4 weeks to no cover after 60days, (which I think was Saga)

The best offer I got was full cover providing someone was to sleep in the house for at least 1 day per month.

Try the camping and carravaning club, if you're a member. If memory serves correctly theirs is 180 days, and it was a very competitively priced policy as well.

So much so that its worth joinning the c&cc just for this!

Just checked the policy and it is 180 days. Their definition of a house been unoccupied is if the house has not been lived in for more than 180 days in a row.

Thanks, I have got an excellent on line quote from the Post Office for 150 days away, far better than I dared hoped for.
