I know it is simple to you all ... but I am computer illiterate. Can you help please. :(

Found my old Asus tablet. Charged it. It ok.

Switched it on and also switched on my 3 wifi ... The tablet couldn't connect to internet .. it found the wifi but said it not authorised as it locked .(or something like that) .. how do I authorise the wifi to connect to the Asus please I have tried all the buttons .. settings .. wifi .. (and it shows my wifi but locked. )

Thank you.

If you click on the link to your wifi does it ask you for the secure key?

No .. that is my problem .. tried every which way but loose. Can't get it to ask me for the secure link so I can type it in. There must be another way to get to that point.

I suspect it something simple Mel .. if you were here you would see one of the headings on one of the pages and say 'ah that's it.' But I am rubbish with technology. :(

Is there a "forget this network" button to click..
Sometimes you can delete the network. Turn wifi off and on again and then it asks for password..
Had to do this on our phones at home last week, no idea why it threw a wobbly.

Will go and look.. it doesn't ring any bells though. I will try and put pictures of each screen.

A long shot but ... try turning off your 'location' and then turning it back on, it can sometimes confuse tablets! Don't ask me why but it does!

Tried just touching screen to get any other messages .. nothing.. Tried just going straight from the home page into motorhomefun after doing all that and it just says not connected to internet .. I had hoped another message would come up there that says connect your internet etx with password and a place to do it.. or please authenticate internet 'here'.

There's not an 'airplane' mode or something that could stop it connecting is there? You need to go through all of the settings, not just the obvious ones.

On the Settings/WiFi screen touch the WiFi symbol and it should list all WiFis.

Forget/delete the one you want to connect to.

Turn WiFi OFF then ON and it should do another scan and then you can touch the WiFi you want and re-enter the key.

Just wondering if it is like a phone that has been purchased through a particular provider and is locked into them. Did you get it as part of phone deal.

If there is nothing on the tablet worth saving do a factory reset which will return the tablet to the state you received it in. Then redo a wifi search, find your router and enter the routers password. The security protocol in your pic is WPA wich is a complex security algorythm compared to the older WEP based protocols, so at least the tablets security is current. By doing the factory reset it should clear the authentication protocol error as it looks like an app/program conflict is at fault. I use ASUS motherboards in my pc's and it usually takes me a couple of weeks to get everything running as it should, conflict free. JMTW (y)
