have I broken my on board power supply? (1 Viewer)

I borrowed someone's 240 supply lead yesterday and didn't realise it was wired wrong. Now the power supply unit on board is showing a flickering reverse polarity light even though it's corrected and everything is running fine.
Have I broken it?

It's unlikely you've done any damage by connecting a reversed polarity supply. The main issues with RP are safety related.

Your flickering RP lamp is probably connected between Earth and Neutral. If it is on, it means the N to E voltage is must greater than it should be; often a few volts but nothing large enough to 'flicker' your RP lamp. Check your connections again. Check you have an earth connection too.

Do you have an AC voltmeter? Check:-
L to N, 200-240v
L to E, 200-240v
N to E, something <5v but can be higher with long site/EHU cables.

Assume you're in the UK?

Yes in UK. I haven't got a voltmeter at present but have tried different supply units such as a sinewave generator and a small power pack, both of which the R/P is flickering to the point of almost being fully on. Also tried different cables.
So far all roads lead to a defect in the main unit

Have you checked the input socket connections on you vehicle, may have a loose wire making intermittent contact.
