Has your laptop ever burned your legs?

    Drama in Ellesmere Port today, when this Audi burst into flames. Cheshire Fire Brigade responded quickly (the Fire Station being less than 1/2 mile away) and extinguished the flames. The cause? A laptop battery in the boot overheating! (see Cheshire Fire website)

    Now I know they can get warm but this?

    If I recall correctly, Dell laptops had a serious similar problem a few years ago.

    Yes, along with most of the big PC builders since they all used the same source. I think it was something to do with metal fragments causing shorts. Maybe this was a battery that missed one of the many recalls?

    Got a Dell laptop and a Dell notebook and on both of them the battery geys hot when in use.
    Keeps your legs warm if it's cold.
