Our "auto" fridge has not been working on engine batt. Either on auto or manual. It faulted No10 which meant it was not seeing the engine running.
I took the covers off the outside today and discovered a little box where all the power leads went in.
On removing the cover there was a "push fit" connector not fully home. Pushed it in till it clicked and job is now sorted. :thumb:

Always knew you were a mechanic Ken  Isn't it nice when the fault is a simple one ?

    Brilliant!

I am delighted for you as I know how often things like this have happened to me...

Don't, what ever you do, spoil the happiness you feel now by asking "Why didn't I do that sooner?"

Always a recipe for success when you match the skill of the mechanic to the complexity of the fault :Laughing:

    'Happy Puppy' :Eeek:

My imagination has failed me. A puppy is YOUNG, energetic and trusting. I'm sorry Munchie but a Happy Puppy you are definitely not .

I can understand you being over the moon or very happy at the result but 'Happy old fart' would have been far more suitable :thumb:.

It's penny pinching scum like you putting dealers out of work.

    What should have happened......

Will you look at my fridge.

Yeh book it in, two week on Friday OK ?

Sorry sir, it's faulty. That will be £100

    I know it's faulty.

Ah, but now Sir, it's officially faulty. The combublicator is burned out.

Gulp, the combublicator. Is that expensive ?

'fraid so Sir. £350 plus fitting plus diagnostics, that's £550.

    Gulp, gulp. All that ?

Yes Sir, but I have a better suggestion.

    Yeeeeeeeeeeeessssss ?

A whole new fridge. Latest model. Fitted for £675 plus the £100 examination charge.

Oh you have saved me, thank you.

Whilst you're on a roll, having fiddled and fixed the fridge, I wonder if now would be a good time to do your tax return . Just a thought.
