Well, having been posted to Northern Germany in late September we are just starting to feel settled but it has been 'trying' to say the least. We were last posted to Germany in the mid-eighties and things have certainly changed, the famous German efficiency is not quite as it was, for example we have waited almost 3 months for a telephone and internet! (almost as bad as the UK). We have managed a couple of camping trips in the local area and have been very impressed by both the facilities and the welcome we have recieved, we have certianly received lots of waves as we travel around. It is a lovely time of year to be in Germany with the Christmas markets in full swing we travelled to the half-timbered city of Celle on Saturday and really enjoyed the sights, sounds and smells of a tradiitional Chrismas market, the gluwein was hot and the bratwurst very tasty. We are now getting ready for the trip home to Hayling Island in a couple of weeks time and can't wait to see the grand kids. We will then meet up with friends for our annual New Years camping trip, this year we are all meeting in the midlands, we normaly have a murder mystery night and will always have a bbq on New Years day, our first of the year!
