Hi All Didn't know whether to post this in cycling walking or wildlife as it includes a bit of everything. We have now been a week at Camperstop Sierra Espuna near Totana(Spain), lots of people use this great camperstop as a one night stopover BUT if you are remotely interested in the "great outdoors thing" you really need to stop longer, and the longer you stop the more you find to do. Martin and Judith who live on site during the winter months are keen walkers and cyclist and have left some good routes in the little shower and wash area so it is really easy to get out and explore. You can do completely flat cycle rides up or down the canal right through to some quite extreme mountain biking and 700 metres climb road rides up in the Sierra Espuna national park, and that's not mentioning the walking which we have only done one but there are tracks every where. Then you have the birds and general wildlife, we were just sat outside sunning ourselves this morning and an immature Golden Eagle flew right over the site giving me the chance to get some slightly grainy photos. All in a great camperstop, bring plenty of food and drink as you don't want to waste your energy pedaling the provisions 2 miles uphill from the supermarket when you can be out in the mountains.
