First Motorhome (1 Viewer)

Hello everyone, Sid from Suffolk here. I am totally new to motorhoming, having been an "under canvas" camper for a good few years. We are completely fed up with all the packing away, wiping down, airing out and waterproofing that comes with tent life. Particularly when , as it usually is, its pouring down. To be honest, it's getting harder and harder to do anyway, as the bones get older.
This afternoon, we are collecting a new to us motorhome and we will be spending as much time using it as we possibly can.
I'm sure I'll be asking many , many questions in the near future, as we travel this learning curve.
My apologies in advance for annoying you all.

Welcome Sid. All the reasons you give for getting a MH are same as ours and we would never go back to being under canvas ourselves. We bought a little 2016 Elddis Marquis 125 last Sept and we love it although sometimes we wish it was a bit bit bigger but that is offset by the fact that we can get to places easier (we use it for travelling a round from a base site) plus it’s easier to park in most car parks being only 6mtrs long.

I am certain you will love your new to you MH and like us will see it was a great choice. Happy roaming!

Thanks everybody for the warm welcome. Matilda came home with us yesterday. She's 16 now, so a few things are not 100%. However, more things work than don't.

She's called Matilda, 2007 Kentucky Camp Corral 7 on a Ford chassis. There's 28000 on the clock, sleeps 5, comes with a safari room and the TV isn't getting a signal

Have you turned on the reviever in the cupboard. Thought mine didn't work for the first 9 months. Worst thing I did was find the switch

I sort of understand what you're saying Nanniemate. Sadly there will be times my boozed up mates will be on board. Not the type to stare in wonder at the beauty of nature or mankind's great achievements. He'll want Match of the Day and Peaky Blinders. Then the wife will want Emmerdale and Naked Attraction.
I think everything is turned on, we can get DVD's to play. Just getting zero signal to tune to. I'll be fiddling around for some dodgy connections at the weekend.
