Out for a run yesterday and the oil can symbol starts flashing and the words CHANGE OIL 0, was able to stop and have a look and think! If low pressure then light on permanently and oil level was spot on.
Came up with service 654 miles, ok, that makes sense.
Checked owner's manual and it seems that oil change is due when the vehicle says so !!

Original owner had service at 9k- 2013, 14k-2014, then did PX. I bought at 23k in April 2015, dealer shows oil and filter changed again at time of purchase.

Now showing 28k, so has oil deteriorated in 4k or did dealer fail to reset service interval which means vehicle believes the oil has done 14k ?

Manual doesn't show how to reset yourself, seems a plug in is needed. I can use the Snap-on Verus machine if vehicle allows it.

Resets itself eventually, can't remember the specific number of miles.
Probably find that the manufacturer service intervals are at 28k but everyone over services anyway (except fleets)

Changed, oil, oil and fuel filter, cabin filter (what a bitch to work out how!)
Despite numerous attempts video for Boxer does not work on my Fiat.
Diagnostic machine I had use of did not have the X250 series so light still flashing.
