I have been caravanning for 32 years but in 2014 I have"gone over to the dark side"
Well folks - 5 weeks today on the 22nd of Jan on the ferry from Portsmouth to Billbao - any other funsters booked on it?

Very rough plan for 8 week trip is Lisbon, Algarve, Cadiz, South coast of Andelucia (several stops there) Cabo de Gata, Cartagena, Javia, Tarragona, Carcassone, Bordeaux and St Malo - ferry home from St Malo 21st March.

That is the planned route but we will not be staying in or even visiting all of the cities mentioned.

As far as stops are concerned - a few in mind but we will (as usual) just mooch along stopping when & where we feel like it :xgrin:

If the weather is good Galicia is worth exploring. But at that time of year it will be pot luck I think if you get it dry. :xsmile:

It is allowed to wild beside entrance to campsite there is a small hardened off area. It all depends on our travelling companions and weather, there is another site Camping Banares which is open 14 miles down the road. If snowy we will use the latter on ehu also access to heated sanitaire block.

Haro is a great stop for provisions and cheap fuel, I think its 5 supermarkets within a short distance of each other including Lidl.

Campsite is very popular with Brits coming off or en route to ferry, short uphill walk into town, superb pubs, tapas bars and restaurants, the old church is well worth a visit, as are the numerous bodegas campsite itself when open is excellent.
