Well thank you for all that, great job. I think you have answered as I feared.
The more I have researched I am not sure it is actually legal in the UK. I think it is like the "A" frame which is not legal in the UK but also not illegal just a very "Grey" area. But I don't want to start an "A" frame discussion here, it has been done to death on many other threads.
As far as I can make out, the manufacturer of the Easy-Lifter only sells it direct and refuses to answer emails so puts nothing in writing. It is certainly not likely to have a European CofC. and is certainly not retailed in France and after the time it took to get a perfectly legal Hymer registered in France I am not about to try with an Easy-Lifter.
As you have found there are similar devices in France but I think there will be considerable resistance to accepting a UK version. It may not be a problem ever, but if just one French Plod wants to increase his ticket rate, it will be just too much hassle.
So I think I must seek a different solution to my problem. I may look at a "Monkey Bike" in the garage.
But I am extremely grateful for your efforts.
