It's times like these that forum information is invaluable. Had we not read that the place where the Motorhome's had previously parked was now closed we could easily also have misread the sign and been the recipient of one of these. Luckily we knew not to park there so THANKS funsters who posted about this previously.

As silly as iit seems it does indeed mean what @Sabino @klaatu and @gus-lopez said.

Hopefully this will help stop someone getting a ticket if you didn't know, you go now.

The square is closed that's where the signs are and 3 French vans entered today and each got an 80euro fine. We are parked on the east side of the beach and heading to Santa Maria and Cadiz area in morning. Can't do aires all the time especially with Spanish prices compared to Portugal ones

That's informative. I didn't realise cars were called turismo's in Spanish. I would have parked there as I thought it meant no parking EXCEPT for tourists.
