Have had a MEOS 15.4 12v TV given to me back that hasn't been used for a few years. DVD works OK but however I try cannot get it to pick up any channels-keeps coming up with "database empty" .Had the house aerial on to check if it was that but same problem. If I set it to search it will go through the system and come up with !database empty" .Could it be that it is not DTV suitable?

Connect to house aerial to ensure you will get a signal.
Open the onscreen menu,
go to SOURCE, (or if there's a 'source' button press it)
select DTV,
retune.

Chances are its defaulted to Analogue signal but if that fails the tuners buggered..... Bin it.

Check if there is a factory reset within the menu.
If so use that and then do a fresh re-scan...

Worth a shot as seen this problem mentioned a few times..

Since 2008 & many years tugging
Don't do EHU so only 12v for digibox.
The small ones on ebay & Amazon are often 12v with a seperate power supply I've got a Bush one at home that's 12v. Otherwise they will run off a small plug in inverter they don't use much power.

Been looking on E-bay etc for "12v digibox" but seem all to need a sat dish . I bought a TEVION sat dish set from ALDI a while ago that I never used. Perhaps a numpty question but suppose it can be adapted to use with an aerial instead of sat/dish?

Try searching for
Dvb t2

Digital video broadcast terestrial version 2

About £15 on ebay, most have plug top converter power supply but dont usually mention dc voltage it outputs, ask seller the question.

Eg.

No it can't Chris.

You specifically need a 12v FREEVIEW TV digital RECEIVER.

FREESAT and FREE TO AIR receivers are satellite digiboxs
