19 month year 18000 miles UK, Ireland, France, Spain, Germany, Italy. Campsites and off Grid.
Up from £501 to £615!!!

2021 £341
2022 £387
2023 £501 30% increase
2024 £615 23% increase

That's nearly a100% increase in 3 years. No claims. I suppose I should be grateful that the increase is less (percentage) than last year.

I did a lot LOT of ringing around last year and it was still the best. I really hate doing the getting quotes particularly when it seems you actually have to speak to people for motorhome insurance with a lot of companies rather than doing it online.

Just renewed my car insurance up 70% with direct line ! When asked WHY they try and justify it with all sorts of statistics! But my situation had not changed from last year , so WHY I have no idea maybe it’s ageism? Or paying for flood damage who knows?:(

Whoops - just remembered that includes breakdown which was added in 2022 - hence the big increase. Taken that off now as I don't need it (now with Nationwide) and it's come down to £530. Over 4 years comparing like with like (no breakdown) it's now

2021 - £341
2022 - £387
2023 - £416
2024- £533 28% increase

Got quotes from:

CAMC £507 - £25 price beat promise
AIB -can get nowhere near
Grove and Dean - Highway £564
Ripe £603
Caravanguard £606
Safeguard £1003

So after losing several hours of my day I think I'll go with CAMC. It's the cheapest, less than last year, looks good cover and has recouped £28 of my £63 joining fee. (y)

Might be wrong, but I seem to recall looking at CAMC a couple of years ago and found that EU insurance and breakdown cover is an added extra with CAMC’s Red Pennant scheme. When added to CAMC’s insurance cost, it totalled a fair bit higher than Comfort’s equivalent package which includes EU insurance and breakdown.
Obviously, this would only affect people wishing to travel abroad, though.

We have a Volvo XC60 which lives in Spain. It's insured with Linea Directa (note the similarity). Last year the premium was 450 euros. This year its 463 euros. In Spain it's the car that's insured, not the driver. Anyone authorised (by the owner) is insured to drive. Are we being ripped off in the UK?

Yes the UK is a rip off. I have a new SEAT Ateca in Spain, insurance with Generali is €246.00 Euro
I have a BMW 420d convertible and a Ford Edge Vignale the BMW was rereged in Spain the insurance €315 Euro, I brought it back, in the UK it’s £480 the Ford Edge is £445 both 2 Litre diesels. My Moho is £750
I have 30 years no claims record, I have insured my UK cars since 2016 and 2017 since they were new
The Moho has 3 years no claims. I’m limited to 6000 miles a year!..
My cars need insurance renewal 21st this month, my Moho 1st April. My SEAT April.
I expect to spend just under 2k on insurances for 4 vehicles that combined do less than 12000 miles a year!

Yes, we are being ripped off, but we always are in UKan pay. Cartels are officially banned, but still seem able to work "off the book" in more subtle ways like the prominent house builders who are currently under investigation for working in cahoots with each other over pricing.
I did get a comforting email from Comfort explaining how to keep my motorhome safe, so I'd better start taking the keys out of it overnight, and locking it up even  I had been going with a policy of 🤞.
Mike.
