Stayed there twice in the past few years, en route to other parts of France. Site was very good with spacious, well kept pitches and was very way to find off the motorway. Facilities very good, and if you have bikes with you as we did, it is handy for access by bike to Chambord - which is pretty stunning! Enjoy, and hope you have better weather over there than we have here,
Thanks very much for the positive response,,,first time in the loire and was under the impression from the website that it was fine,,,nothing better than first hand information,,,thanks again
Stayed there 10 or so years ago with the kids and went there for a couple of nights in June on our way to the Dordogne. It has improved since we first went - small supermarket, improved pool. Nice relaxed feel to it and it's about 10 minute walk to the river. Bar area quite nice and the takeaway was very good, showers etc. plentiful & clean. Great site for kids. :thumb:
Are you taking children with you - just thought, one of the reasons we stayed there was to go to Zoo Parc de Beauval which is about an hour's drive way. Lovely animal park with Pandas, koalas, white lions, white tigers etc., infact quite a few animals we'd never seen before. Hence the panda as my avatar Closer than Edinburgh if you live in the South!
Hi
We have'nt stayed on that site but we did go to Chambord Chateau last year, it is absoloutly breath taking when you see it, the grounds are very nice as well, nice bike rides round the grounds, we also went to sully sur loire chateau, got a nice free aire right near it (go over bridge accross river, turn immediately left, drive along narrow road and takes you to the aire for about 15 motorhomes, facing the river) Enjoy, the Loire it is very beautiful:thumb:
The Aire on the island at Amboise is also top notch. Again an easy walk to chateau and town, plus on Sunday morning a HUGE market on the river bank.
We were there in April - in fact we did more or less the same trip as someone else on MHF who has posted pics of the aires they stayed on in an album on here - just can't recall who at the mo! (eg Stenay, la Ferte Beauharnais, the place with the Pont du Canal that I can't recall the name of, and a few others by river or canal or lake that also escape me!)
Hi , Sully sur Loire Fab Chateau also nice free aire well worth a visit also well worth visiting Beaujency aire nice town and Briare nice aire on canal side just over bridge from main aire . Have a look at my photo album France Loire 2011 sept. Terry (FIDGET)
