Our heater will ignite, build up speed as it heats up but when it reaches temperature as set on the thermostat, the green light dims as it should according to the manual but then 2 seconds later turns red and shuts down and then will not re-ignite for a considerable time. I thought it was a thermostat/switch problem and bought a new switch (spares very hard to get now for Carvers) but same thing happens so problem not with the switch. Any ideas anyone?
There is a company mentioned on several forums, who apparently bought all Carver spares when they were bought by Truma, called arcsystems of Nottingham but they don't answer phone or email so I don't know if still in business. Anyone dealt with them lately?

Can't help with Carver, but I had a similar sounding problem with my (then nearly new) Truma. I was told to take the cover off the top of the boiler itself and watch a light that was there. When the main red light came on, the light on the boiler flashed a code which gave more info about why the red light had come on - it could be a fault with the boiler itself, or it could be gas or water supply or low voltage.

In my case it was a PCB fault and the boiler was replaced under warranty.

Not sure whether Carver has a similar function, you probably really do need a carver specialist.

This is not a rude question or a silly answer......do you have gas to the heater....do you have a blockage or air lock.........just a thought?

the reason I say this mine is the truma...and during the night with the fridge and freezer on all the time the gas had run out...well more or less enough to run the fridge and freezer ..but when I lit the blown heating it ran for a second and switched off and lit up RED...checked the fridge ok checked the gas ring ok then went off ....changed my bottle at 6.00am in the morning at minus 5 c ...everything back to normal

Yes Carver does have similar function. On the switch/thermostat where the lights show, the red light when it cuts out, flashes 6 times, pauses then another 6 etc. The manual is really helpful and diagnoses this a 'control fault' -very useful.
Hoping someone will know of a Carver specialist.

Yes plenty of gas, in fact last weekend when we needed the heater, it ran for 15/20 minutes until it got so hot in van that I had to turn thermostat down until it 'clicked off' , green light dimmed then 2 seconds later turned to red and shut down again.

Try giving this chap a ring I used to go there when I was lived in England...he stocks lots of spares and sells a few second hand motorhomes...ask his advice.....he is a fair distance from Wales he is in Yorkshire near Hull....last time I went to him his place was out in the sticks (country side)...a phone call may help you

    https://sslrelay.com/olearymotorhom...hopdata/?main_url=product_overview.shopscript

on his web page in the quick search......Type "carver heating parts"
and have a look at his parts..

    Good luck Mel :thumb:

    Thanks Mel,
I had hoped O'Learys were going to be at Newark last weekend as I always like a good rummage on their stand at shows. I will give a ring, looking at their website it does look as if some Carver bits are still available.
Also I have heard from another funster that arcsystems are still going but closed for few days due to a bereavement so altogether things are looking up.
